full name • Kylie Marie Adams nick names • Ky, Kyls age • twenty years young member group • Ash Heap occupation • secretary/works the desk at the Fitzgerald Hotel grade • graduated, 2008 hometown • Mystic, Connecticut sexuality • heterosexual height • five feet, three inches hair • More often that not, Kylie's dark brown hair has a natural curl to it, though a very loose one, and it falls to about her shoulder blades. eyes • Brown and round, much like a doe's eyes. 20/20 vision, no need for glasses nor contacts. play by • Gabrielle Hawkins
likes • men, parties, people who look past her mean front, music, sarcastic humor, being out of the house, being in crowds, concerts/shows, adrenaline rushes, feeling appreciated, getting stuff done by herself, standing up for herself, arguing, frenemies, making money, having a job. dislikes • men who treat her like she can't do anything because she's a woman, codependency, prudes, being called a whore (or any name) by people she doesn't know, saints/innocent people, losing, getting told no, "family time", people who don't believe in her the way she believes in herself, not getting what she wants, achieving things through dishonest means habits/quirks • She lies. She doesn't try to make a habit of it. But when she doesn't want to answer questions, odds are, she's not going to tell you. She's just going to lie about it. Typical things she lies about are: her family, past relationships, where she got most of her scars, and her views on people. If she fears she's getting too close, she'll push people away. She doesn't mean to do it. But if she fears that she's getting too dependent on another human being, odds are, she's going to attempt to sabotage the relationship. She likes knowing that, while she has friends, it won't be the end of the world if she loses someone she considers to be close to herself. Thus, if she gets even the tiniest bit connected to them, she'll try to push them away. fears • Codependency. She doesn't hate it; she fears it. She doesn't want her happiness to depend on a human being, and she most definitely doesn't want it to depend on anything else. Never falling in love. Her fears do contradict themselves. While she doesn't want to be codependent, she wants to fall in love. She just doesn't want her entire world to depend on the other person. And if it has to happen, let it happen later. For the time being, she just wants to make sure it's possible for it to happen to her. dreams • To find love. Eventually, she does want to be able to let her guard down. However, she has to be absolutely sure that she isn't going to get screwed over for it. She wants to find the kind of love she doesn't have to fear. To go to college. She was never smart enough to get the scholarships and never rich enough to pay to go. But one day, she does want to go to college to major in psychology and minor in sociology so she can become a therapist. secrets • She's extremely vulnerable. When it comes to people hating her, Kylie likes to play it off like she doesn't care. But in truth, she takes everything people says to heart, and it can come back and bite her in the ass later in life. She had a pregnancy scare in high school. It turned out, there is such thing as a false positive. And that false positive ruined Kylie's life. It cost her her boyfriend, her reputation, and her home. Since, she hasn't quite been the same. overall •
BELIEVE IN ME||I'LL BELIEVE IN YOU. -- Kylie is someone who always feels like she has something to prove. In her family, she's always stuck out like a sore thumb, and she takes 'sore' to so many different meanings. Rude, blunt, and anything but the nice girl her parents wanted her to be, she's definitely her family's black sheep. Thus, in every aspect in life, she feels like she has to go above and beyond what people expect her to do. She strives for people to put their faith in her, and thus is always trying to gain people's trust. She likes to be a confident, and it's hard for her to keep her nose out of other people's business.
I'M NOT NOBODY'S||I'M NOT NOBODY'S FOOL. -- Commitment? Please. This girl is the world's biggest commitaphobe. You know that one guy in high school who always flirts and never seems to keep a girlfriend? You know, the player? The female form of that is what they call Kylie Marie. She hates to be attached to anything - codependency is one of her biggest fears. Other people trusting her? Coolio. Her trusting other people? Not so much. She likes to keep her personal feelings and weaknesses out of the public eye, and thus can be a little stubborn to communicate with. However, she's always up for flings and one night stands, so boys, if you're looking for a good time, just hit her up.
I WANNA SCREAM AT THE||TOP OF MY LUNGS. -- She's loud. Loud, obnoxious, and all around an annoying girl. She likes to act like she's big and tough and can take care of herself. Feminist? Oh yeah. If guys ever believe that girls can't do anything for themselves, they haven't met her. She'd easily prove them wrong in a second. When she's not with her friends she's at her job working so she can keep her small apartment. She's an overachiever that doesn't take help. Naturally, she's stressed out more often than not which could play a big role in her sore, blunt attitude.
IT MAKES NO SENSE||IT'S A RHYTHM THAT YOU GO THROUGH. -- She's complicated. She's a little different than everyone else. Some days, she'll view the world and people in black and white; other days, she'll view it in many different shades. She's intelligent but does stupid things, and she strives for love but pushes it away from her. Overall, she's a stressed out, rude, obnoxious, lost little girl trying to find her place.

Kylie was born to Victoria and James Adams on February 16, 1990. That day would be later known to Kylie as the worst day of her mother's life - and Victoria never felt bad about sharing it, either. From the time Kylie was old enough to understand what was going on to the age of around roughly twelve years old, she was verbally abused by her mother. "You're not supposed to be alive," her mother would say. "You were supposed to be an abortion, but your father wouldn't let me." Comments like this flew at Kylie almost 24/7 and the affects of it showed - when she started school, she was antisocial and sensitive to what people would say about her. She was very, very needy and dependent on her teachers to help her through the day, and she always seemed reluctant to go home.
One day, a few months before Kylie turned thirteen, her mother took it too far. She was going off on Kylie for not cleaning her room, telling her how worthless she was and just using all of the usual insults. Then, she hit her. Kylie had never been beaten before by anyone for anything. It was too much, and the little girl snapped. She told her mother not to touch her or talk to her or even acknowledge her existence. She told her to just act like she wasn't there if she hated her so much. She shocked her mother into silence, and felt a surge of power at her ability to make her mom stop picking on her. From that day on, her soft and vulnerable exterior was hardened into an armor of sarcastic words, harsh insults, and screaming to keep people from hurting her. She was not going to go back to being abused again - not when she knew she could prevent it.
Things started picking up in high school, where people took more easily to the new Kylie. She gained respect for not taking crap from anybody, but she also gained a lot of hate because she was known to be a little heartless. She tried to distance herself from people - while she had people around to call "friend", she wasn't extremely close to any of them and they were all easily disposable. Boys came and went and came again in her life, and she went through all of them over and over again. Her mother still wasn't talking to her, and her father just noticed her enough to provide her with the things she needed to live. Her sophomore year of high school, she started partying a lot. That's when she met Carden.
Carden was a senior and he was beautiful. A little bit of an arty rebel, he had a reputation for being just as big of a heartbreaker as Kylie herself. The two actually managed a relationship, though, that lasted through Kylie's senior year, when she found out that she may be pregnant. Carden asked her to buy a pregnancy test, and when the result came back positive, he bailed. Heartbroken, Kylie made a mental note to never let herself be that vulnerable again. About a week later, she got her period, proving the test to be faulty. But she didn't have the heart to find Carden again, nor the motivation to make herself vulnerable to him. She finished out the rest of the year, never talking to him, and as soon as she got the chance post-graduation, she took a loan from her father and left town.
That's how she got to New York. She used the loan from her father to start renting her small apartment, and she currently has a job working at a hotel to help pay the bills. She's lost contact from everyone in her home town - her mother, father, and Carden all included. Now, she's just hoping to save up enough money to eventually buy a house or send herself to college. She hopes to one day find another relationship that makes her just as happy as the one with Carden did, but she doubts she can let her hopes down. But she'll keep dreaming - after all, no one can predict the future.

What in the world was happening to her life? Kylie had to admit, a few days ago, she would have never found herself in a situation anywhere similar to this. Chandler would not be heading over to the bus to supposedly cuddle with her. Nick wouldn't be pushing Chandler onto her this badly. And most importantly, even if that stuff was happening, Kylie wouldn't feel guilty for it in the slightest. But for some reason, something changed. Maybe it was being alone with Sylance too much, maybe it was Chandler talking to her like a human being, or maybe somewhere in her mind, the part of the brain that made a person nice finally just kicked on for her. She wasn't sure. All she knew was that this was the perfect opportunity to go through with her bet with Nick (or at least make head-way on it) and she did not feel the surge of pride she usually did when she proved someone wrong. All she felt was a twisting, turning feeling of guilt in the pit of her stomach.
Why, though? After all, there wasn't anything for her to feel guilty for. Sure, using Chandler to prove to Nick that she was a big enough whore to charm anybody was a little bad, but she'd done worse in her lifetime without ever thinking twice. But now, she just didn't feel right. She signed out of the chat, biting her lip as she considered what was happening around her. Nothing on this tour seemed to be going as expected - there were rumors of Sylance actually talking to people, Devan and Felicity were a couple, and most surprising of all, Nick and Atty were a couple...and they were all happy. And now Chandler was going to the bus because she, Kylie Marie Adams, had friends that pushed him in her direction just to satisfy a stupid bed. And even if everyone around her was amused and having fun and happy, something about the whole situation just upset her.
She didn't have time to dwell on it, though. The last time she had doubted Chandler would come, he had showed up, and she wasn't going to take any chances this time. She first considered what she was wearing - short shorts and a white tank top. Considering how she was, it wasn't that bad, though she doubted that it would make things easier for her if she wore less clothes than she had to. She closed her laptop, lowering it down to the ground and pushing it under bunk before climbing off the bed to sort through her clothes. She found a pair of pajama pants and quickly changed, listening closely for any sign that could show that Chandler was going to walk in at any moment. She looked down at her tank top - it was clean and not see-through, and the shoulder straps were wide enough to cover the straps of the bra that she had left on for relaxing in. She was fine, appearance-wise.
The only thing she could think of to do now was wait. She climbed back onto her bunk, lying on top of the covers and pulling out one of the books she'd stolen from Sylance from under her mattress. Even if he didn't show up, reading was a nice activity anyway, and it would no doubt put her to sleep over a long enough time. Though even as her eyes took in the words of Aldous Huxley, her mind was still focused on Chandler and how in the world she was going to manage to pull this bet off without feeling like a total bitch.
