That thought repeated itself over and over again in her head but it just didn’t stick. How could it stick? While the students were all laughing and joking on their way to their next class she was sitting there waiting for…Hell she didn’t even know why she was still sitting there.

<div align="justify">Ruby is a very down to Earth girl. She works every hard at her job at the coffee shop and has worked there since she was 15 years old. After graduating high school she took classes at the community college down the street from her house and got her associates degree in business but doesn’t have enough money to go to a big time university. Not that she would want to waist her time there. Her money is going to her travels. On a giant world map on her wall at home , in her parents small two bedroom walk up, she has pin pointed all the places she has ever wanted to go. From what she read about in school to what she has seen in pictures.</div>
Many people have looked down at her because her parents live off of pennies and they barely have enough to have three meals a day. But that doesn’t get Ruby down. She knows if she works hard she will get out of that town. Go on to do great things. Climb the tallest mountains and cross the great seas at least 10 times before she settles down with the love of her life and has threw beautiful children. She doesn’t want to stay in the city. She wants to live out where she can see the stars. Where it is so quiet you can hear yourself thing. Where there is no chance of getting shot walking down the street in the middle of the night. She wants peace.

<div align="justify">Growing up, Ruby had a happy life. No one could get her down. She always had a smile on her face even if her parents couldn’t pay the rent or give her more if she was still hungry after dinner. She never let them go to sleep at night without a hug and a kiss letting them know she loved them for everything they were and that they were doing everything they could. Her brother and her were nearly inseparable and never fought. But they didn’t see the need to. Their parents had enough problems they didn’t need their children fighting. One weekends her brother and herself would set up a lemonade stand outside their apartment so that they could help their parents out. Though they never made over 20 dollars their parents always told them it was the very best.</div>
In school you could say Ruby was the one that turned heads. With her beautiful smile and her laugh that made guy’s swoon. Her legs going up to heaven and her hair that made her want to run your fingers through. She was the top of the top in high school and she loved it. She never had to worry about anything but then again most of the kids that knew her in school had known her all her life and knew that she wouldn’t change just because all the guys wanted her. She didn’t pay them much attention. She was too busy working and saving up her money. During her senior year her brother had announced he was joining the service. He was getting out of New York. But he wasn’t going anyplace better. He was going to war and it broke Ruby’s heart. For months she cried herself to sleep and prayed that her brother come home safe. She didn’t get her wish. He was killed by a road side bomb the day of her graduation. And a few months after his graduation she got a letter from him telling her to go for her dreams. To never settle and to keep going with everything. If he never made it home she had to keep going. To make her dreams come true so that when she gets to heaven she can tell him all about it.
Years later that letter stays in her pocket. So when she is feeling down she can pull it out and read over it over and over till she can stand back up and put that smile back on her face. The one that her brother always loved. At 25 years old she could feel herself getting closer and closer to her goal. She just needed a bit more and she would have enough for everything. Having already gotten her travel pack and had it packed sitting in her closet. She just needed enough money for food and enough for hostels and last but not least the plane tickets. One there and she would get the other when she was ready to come back. She had her passport ready to be stamped she just needed the getaway money.

<div align="justify">Ruby sat on the uncomfortable chair. Her fingers twirling a curl slowly around and around, trying to keep herself busy. It was her first day of school and to say the least she was nervous. She watched kids walk in and out of the office. Some stared at her curiously other ignored her. She was the new kid. Fresh meat, some would say.
Letting out a sigh she leaned forward with her head in her hands. She had been sitting there for three whole hours. Had they forgotten her? That would just piss her off more than make her feel bad. Looking up once more, she heard a bell. Turning her head to the window she watched the halls fill up with students. All different types. Jocks, Geeks, Preps, Loners. This caused her to bit her lip nervously. It will be alright Ruby…It won’t be so hard.
Slowly everyone started to disperse leaving her there on the hard plastic chair. I think my butt fell asleep. She thought to herself looking down at her black skinny jeans. Running her hands up and down her thighs slowly, her legs stretching out as she stared down at her red pumps. She stuck out like a sour thumb around these people. Her clothing screamed New York. Theirs screamed ‘fashion disaster.’ Though some of the girls had a really nice look she had to say. Tapping her toes together she ran her hand through the mess of curls as she waited.
I swear…I am going to murder my mother for making me do this. She thought to herself as she leaned her legs up once more resting her elbows on her knees, her head falling into her hands, curls of chocolate brow spilling out around her face. She looked over her shirt for a moment in this position before sitting up and pulling at the black vest she wore over her white tank top. Should have looked around before I started here…Maybe then I wouldn’t have stuck out that much. She scowled to herself before shaking head, slowly she leaned it back letting it rest against the class of the window. Time passing slowly..[/BLOCKQUOTE]</div>
